Horncastle, Lincolnshire — repeat countryside assignment
Three stays between November 2024 and July 2025 at a cottage set within a deer park, including extended winter and multi-month periods.
Animals: a Chow Chow, a cat, two Thoroughbred horses and poultry.
- Daily dog, cat and poultry routines
- Horse feeding, hay, rugs and stable access according to the homeowner’s routine
- Winter care and ongoing attention to a remote countryside property
- Weekly photographs and updates
- Practical preparation for the homeowner’s return
Why it matters: the original assignment was extended and we were invited back for further stays. Repeat bookings are one of the strongest indications that a homeowner remained confident after experiencing our work firsthand.
“I have extended my stay and also booked them in for the next time I am away.”

- Dog walks, companionship and household presence
- Horse feeding, grooming and agreed stable and yard work
- Field and tack-room care
- Clean, organised preparation for the homeowner’s return
Why it matters: the homeowner specifically highlighted the animals’ response to us, the condition of the stables and tack room and the standard of the home on return.
“They really are 5 star Housesitters… The tack room was immaculate and the stables were so well mucked out it was incredible.”

Egypt — completed multi-species assignment
A two-month private assignment involving five dogs, more than twenty cats, three tortoises and seven camels.
- Structured feeding, water and cleaning routines
- Care across several species and different temperaments
- Daily observation and consistent household presence
- Organisation of a large number of recurring tasks
- Clear communication while respecting location privacy
Why it matters: this was substantially more complex than a conventional single-pet assignment and required calm handling, reliable organisation and sustained routines throughout the stay.

Private coastal assignments in Egypt
Several completed private stays have involved dogs, cats, home and garden care, including two longer stays totalling approximately three months and additional shorter assignments.
Locations and identifying property details are intentionally kept general. A private homeowner reference may be available once an assignment is genuinely shortlisted.

Animals and routines within our experience
- Dogs and cats, including single- and multi-pet households
- Horses and owner-directed stable, yard and pasture routines
- Reptiles, including a leopard gecko and royal python
- Poultry and fish
- Tortoises and camels within a larger multi-species assignment
- Senior animals and owner-directed medication or closer observation where appropriately agreed
- Gardens, ponds, gates, deliveries and ordinary household continuity
Every assignment is assessed individually. Experience with an animal type does not replace a clear handover, written instructions or professional veterinary and specialist support where needed.
What this experience has taught us
- ✅ Preparation matters: the best assignments begin with clear routines, contacts and boundaries.
- 🐾 Consistency settles animals: familiar timings and calm handling often matter more than novelty.
- 💬 Useful communication is agreed: updates should reassure the homeowner without becoming noise.
- 🏡 Good house sitting is active stewardship: the home is cared for, not simply occupied.
- 📞 Professional support has a place: veterinary, equine, maintenance and licensed work should be escalated appropriately.
- 🔒 Privacy builds trust: live locations and sensitive household details do not belong on a public portfolio.
