Featured highlights (high-trust sits)

These are a few sits that show the range of our house sitting experience — from long UK stays with horses to complex, multi-animal routines abroad.

1) Horncastle (Lincolnshire) — Cottage in a deer park (3 stays / multi-month)

A high-trust sit in a white brick cottage set in parkland with a stream behind the house and a large pond in front. Wildlife and open views from every window create a true countryside estate feel — and the sit required consistent standards over extended time.

Animals cared for

  • Bear (Chow Chow, 8)
  • Snuggles (cat, 13)
  • Risky (Thoroughbred, 22)
  • Peggy (Thoroughbred, 17)
  • Rebecca (chicken)

Typical responsibilities

  • Daily dog routine, feeding, companionship and walks
  • Horse care: feeding/hay as needed, rugs adjusted to weather, stable access management
  • Hoof checks and basic care (as appropriate to the sit routine provided)
  • Cat and poultry care
  • Home care and day-to-day property standards in a remote countryside setting

Why this is a premium-level sit
Horses, winter routines, remote property care, and consistent standards across long stays — this is where experience matters.

  • 3 tortoises
  • 7 camels

Typical responsibilities

  • Structured routines for feeding, cleaning, water, and observation

Animals we’ve cared for (quick snapshot)

Across our house sits, long stays, and higher-responsibility households, we’ve cared for:

  • Dogs and cats (single and multi-pet homes)
  • Horses
  • Reptiles (including geckos and pythons)
  • Poultry
  • Fish
  • Small pets and farm-style environments (experience varies by sit)

We’re also comfortable supporting routines that include observation, special handling needs, and — where appropriate — administering medication.

How we handle higher-responsibility sits

Higher-responsibility house sitting and pet sitting services work best when everything stays calm and structured:

  • Routine-first: pets settle when care is consistent
  • Team approach: Rob & Lindsey, with Archie (19) supporting routines as part of a responsible team
  • Practical capability: home care is proactive, tidy, and respectful
  • Preparedness: we carry a sensible pet-care kit and respond quickly when something unexpected happens

If your sit involves horses, multiple animals, or complex routines, we’ll confirm expectations clearly before committing.
